Visit the Wies Church located in the grassland on the base of the Alps, one of the most perfect art works of Bavarian Rococo and a UNESCO World Heritage site. In the afternoon, you reach the city of Augsburg, with 2,000 years of development and rich in history. The city’s history is deeply rooted in the Roman Empire - Augsburg was originally founded by Caesar Augustus. The town’s fortune can be traced to the wealthy merchant families Welser and Fugger, and a variety of craft guilds. While the Welsers had shipping interests, the Fuggers were so wealthy that they attracted a wide variety of money and status-seeking people to the town. Much of the city’s architecture has been under the influence of the Renaissance, during which time Augsburg was a major center of music, art and architecture. Regensburg, with its special charm, offers world renowned sights such as the gate to the Roman Castra Regina, Porta Praetoria, or the Old Stone Bridge. After lunch, travel on the overpass to the foothills of the Bavarian Forest, offering you fantastic panoramic views on all sides.
