Day 1: Munich

Upon arrival in Munich, a private transfer takes you to your hotel in Munich. Check in at hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure.

Day 2: Munich - Sightseeing

After breakfast, enjoy a private sightseeing tour around the city of Munich, Germany's third largest city and the capital of Bavaria. Sites include the Olympic Stadium with its impressive amazing 'hanging roof', continue along the famous Ludwigstrasse past the university and Victory Arch into the heart of the city. Regularly, crowds gather at Marienplatz outside the soaring neo-gothic Town Hall to watch the colorful Glockenspiel.

Day 3: Munich - Oberammergau - Neuschwanstein Castle

                          Copyright: BAYERN TOURISMUS,GmbH After breakfast, your chauffeur takes you through the Bavarian Alps along the famous Alpine Road King's Nook. One of the most memorable moments of your journey will be the view of the imposing dome of the Monastery of Ettal as you cross over the Ettal pass. Over the years baroque and rococo artists have created today's façade and extravagant interior.

Later on visit Oberammergau, since 1634 home of the famous Passion Play which takes place every ten years. Oberammergau combines a unique mixture of living culture and tradition. The most significant historical monument of the Luftlmalerei is Pilate's House. Here you can purchase fine products at craft shops which are made by the local craft industry, or watch as woodcarvers create their works. Visit the Living Workshop, where fassmaler, potters and painters are at work.

Neuschwanstein Castle.Continue along the German Alpine Road to the Wieskirche, a masterpiece of Bavarian Rococo. Later on visit the 'fairytale castle' Neuschwanstein, situated on a spectacular Alpine mountainside.. The foundation stone was laid by King Ludwig II of Bavaria in 1869. This was King Ludwig II's favorite castle, though he spent little time here before his death. The building was intended as a medieval knight's castle and is located above a roaring Horse drawn carriages take you up to visit lavishly decorated apartments which include the Throne Room and Lohengrin Grotto.

Back in the city of Munich, have dinner at one of the many traditional "Bier-Kellers" and enjoy typical Bavarian entertainment.

Day 4: The Fairytale Castle Neuschwanstein

                    Copyright: BAYERN TOURISMUS,GmbH After breakfast, your driver takes you to Linderhof Palace, a splendid Rococo palace which is the only one King Ludwig II finished and lived in. The highlights of the artistically laid out landscape garden are the "King's Little House", the old King's Lime Tree. Moorish Kiosk with the Peacock Throne, the Moroccan House and the Hundings Hut. The Moorish Kiosk, and the Hundings Hut, is where the king used to spend his time when he was in a particular Germanic frame of mind. It was acquired by Ludwig in 1876 for the gardens of the Palace. An open-sesame rock leads to an artificial grotto with a waterfall.
Later in the afternoon return to Munich and enjoy another evening in this fun-loving city.

Day 5: Munich - Salzburg (91 miles/1hr 35min)

SalzburgAfter breakfast, your chauffeur will drive you through the beautiful country side of Upper Bavaria to Salzburg in Austria. Your travel takes you to the beautiful holiday area, the Chiemgau, located south of Lake Chiemsee. It is a region of impressive mountain scenery, charming Alpine foothills, moraine hills and broad plains, distinctive rivers and about 200 lakes. The many towns and villages, rich with art and culture invite you to stop and browse. Upon arrival in Salzburg check-in at your hotel and relax for the evening.

Day 6: Salzburg Sightseeing

SalzburgAfter breakfast, enjoy a private guided sightseeing tour of Salzburg, home of the movie "The Sound of Music" and Mozart's birthplace.

In the afternoon your chauffeur will take you on an excursion trip to visit some of Salzburg's spectacular highlights:

Hohensalzburg Fortress,
the largest fortification in Europe; the residence of Salzburg's prince-archbishops

Hohenwerfen Castle,
an adventure castle with the historic falconry

Mauterndorf Castle,
a visit is a perfect encounter with the past

Castle Hellbrunn The world-famous trick fountains, a fabulous summer palace, tremendous works of art, mysterious garden grottos, magical surprises and an unbelievable park - all will tempt you into the realm of fantasy. A true summer dream of sunlight, water and art.

"Salzwelten" - The Bishops salt and Salzburg's Beauty (15 km south of Salzburg) The Salzwelten will take you right into ancient tradition of salt mining. The pit railway "the miners" slides and a raft will convey you to mystical places in the depths of the mountain. The Salt Prince and his clumsy assistant Jacobus will provide lots of fun.

Day 7: Salzkammergut - Vienna

Vienna After breakfast, en route to Vienna your chauffeur drives you through the world-famous Salzkammergut lake district, a region of glaciated lakes and craggy peaks stretching from the borders of the Province of Salzburg and Upper Austria with incomparable landscapes, many small romantic towns and their historic and cultural attractions. Upon arrival in Vienna, check-in at your hotel and relax for the evening in the capital of music and art.

Day 8: Vienna Sightseeing

Vienna. Imperial Palace After breakfast enjoy a private guided tour of you the Imperial Winter Palace, the Parliament and the imposing baroque architecture of the Opera House, St. Stephen's Cathedral. The remainder of the day is at your disposal - perhaps visit the fabulous State Apartments of Schonbrunn Palace, (although not all of its 1400 rooms!) and visit the Prater Amusement Park.

Day 9: Excursion to the Vienna Woods

After breakfast, your chauffeur takes you to the beautiful area of the lower Austrian Southern Alps, known as Vienna Woods and famous for its scenic beauty. Stop at Wiener Neustadt, the birthplace of Emperor Maximilian. Then continue to the Roman city of Baden which is famous for its thermal springs. Drive through the romantic valley of Helenental to the former Mayerling Hunting Lodge where Crown Prince Rudolf and Baroness Vetsera tragically died.

Day 10: Excursion to The Wachau Valley & Romantic Danube Valley

After breakfast, your chauffeur takes you on an unforgettable excursion to the romantic scenery of the Wachau.

On this trip you will pass beautiful old villages, steep vineyards and medieval castles. In the castle of Dürnstein King Richard Lionheart once was imprisoned, while waiting for his ransom to arrive from England, raised by his true minstrel Blondel.

Austria. Benedictine Abbey of MelkEnjoy a boat-trip through this astounding landscape and discover the old wine-merchants town of Krems, right in the heart of the Wachau. One of the highlights of the day will be the visit to the magnificent Benedictine Abbey of Melk, a masterpiece of Austrian Baroque architecture.

Later on return to Vienna and enjoy a dinner at one of the traditional Viennese restaurants and perhaps spend an evening at the Vienna State Opera (pending schedule of performances).
