Overnight in Koblenz Hotel: Day 3: Koblenz - Münster
Discover this lively Westphalian center - a city where tradition and the modern age, past and present complement one another harmoniously. The main eye-catcher is St. Paul's Cathedral, with one of the most lavishly decorated naves in Germany. You will also be delighted by the Prinzipalmarkt - lined by houses with pointed roofs and arched pathways, it is one of Europe's most beautiful inner-city squares. Don't miss the Town Hall, the St. Lamberti Church and the baroque architecture of J.C. Schlaun, including the Erbdrostenhof, St. Clemens Church and the Castle. Typical Westphalian cooking is served, for example, at the "Grosser Kiepenkerl" and "Kleiner Kiepenkerl" restaurants in the Kiepenkerl quarter. Overnight in Münster Hotel: Day 4: Münster - Bremen
Stroll through the town of the "Bremen Town Musicians", from the Brothers Grimm fairytale. Be sure to visit the ornate Town Hall built in the Weser-Renaissance style and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Schnoor - Bremen's oldest quarter, quaint little Böttcherstreet, the cathedral and the statue of Roland. Pleasure and Bremen have always gone hand in hand especially in the ancient Ratskeller, which has been serving wine since 1403. There are more then 650 wines to choose from on a wine list that runs to more than 70 pages. Overnight in Bremen Hotel: Day 5: Bremen - LübeckYou leave Bremen and after about 20 minutes arrive in the village of Worpswede. "Worpswede, Worpswede, Worpswede....it is a wonderland!" wrote Paula Becker enraptured in her diary in 1897. The poet Rainer Maria Rilke enthused about a "sky of indescribable variability and grandeur". Even today, artists and visitors interested in culture are still captivated by the charm of Worpswede and the sky over its sandy hill - the Weyerberg. Birch trees line the streets into the village, situated 25 km north-east of Bremen, in the midst of the expansive, picturesque Teufelsmoor (Devil's Moor) -River Hamme-lowlands. After Fritz Mackensen and his friends settled here in 1889, many artists followed. And still, the synthesis of art, culture, architecture and landscape in Worpswede creates a unique atmosphere.
Overnight in Lübeck Hotel: Day 6: Lübeck - Rostock
Rostock has preserved much of the charm that it once possessed as the most important member of the Hanseatic League. The gabled houses dominating the skyline attest to this, as well as the imposing brick warehouses, massive gates and fortifications and awe-inspiring churches such as St. Peter's with its Gothic tower 117 meters high. They all bear eloquent witness to the wealth of the city's medieval merchants. After enjoying so much culture, sample Mecklenburg roast ribs with Rostock caraway seed schnapps. Overnight in Rostock Hotel: Day 7: Rostock - Potsdam
Potsdam is the capital city of Brandenburg state. It has been the home of kings and inspired artists. It is a city of castles and gardens, a place full of history and legends. And always worth a trip. If you are interested in culture, you can enjoy the UNESCO cultural heritage sites including the Sanssouci Palace and Gardens, the Neues Palais, the Cecilienhof Palace, the Babelsberg Palace and Gardens, Charlottenhof Palace and the Marble Palace.
