Day 2: Berlin

Today, with your private guide, explore the main sights of Germany’s most important and most exciting city. See Brandenburg Gate, Check Point Charlie, the Parliament Reichstag, Berlin Cathedral and the former seat of the communist government of East Germany. Take a boat trip which gives you a view of some important sights from the channels. After pick of rental car, the rest of the day is free for own activities like exploring the numerous, well known museums, or roam around the many boutiques and department store - the KaDeWe.

Day 3: Berlin - Leipzig

After breakfast, travel south to Leipzig. Time to visit St. Thomas Church, where Johann Sebastian Bach had spent many years as leader of the choir. Enjoy the atmosphere at the medieval Market Square.

Day 4: Leipzig - Meissen - Dresden

Dresden. Copyright: GNTB/Kiedrowski,Rainer After breakfast, travel from Leipzig to Meissen and visit the world famous porcelain manufacturer and museum.
Continue your trip to Dresden, one of the loveliest cities of central Europe - "Florence of the Elbe" it was called - and see the important sights like the just restored Frauenkirche, the Semper Opera House, Green Vault, the Baroque Zwinger and many more.

Day 5: Dresden - Zwickau - Weimar - Eisenach

Eisenach. Wartburg Castle. Copyright: GNTB/Schwarz,AstridAfter breakfast, head to Zwickau, where in the time of the German Democratic Republic, the popular car, the Trabbi, was built. Continue to Weimar, one of Germany’s greatest cultural treasures. Poets like Schiller and Goethe, musicians like Liszt and Richard Strauss, writers like Nietzsche and Gropius have lived and worked here.

Continue your trip to Eisenach, dominated by the Wartburg Castle. Visit one of the most important edifices of German history and see the room where Martin Luther used to live and work for many years and spent the last years of his life in seclusion.

Day 6: Eisenach - Ruedesheim / Assmannshausen

After breakfast, travel from Eisenach to Assmannshausen, Ruedesheim, famous for its wines and vineyards. The romantic town at the banks of the river Rhine is located in the wine-growing region Rheingau. Stroll through charming downtown with its famous Drosselgasse. Visit the Niederwald monument, the castle Niederwald, visit the Asbach-Uralt distillery or the Hildegard’s Abbey in the vineyards above Ruedesheim in Eibingen.

Day 7: Ruedesheim - Heidelberg

Heidelberg Castle. Copyright: GNTB/Marth, Gundhard After breakfast, travel to Heidelberg. Have a private guided tour through the beautiful old university town and visit the inner courtyard of the impressive castle, towering above the city, and its wine cellar with the big barrel.

Day 8: Heidelberg - Black Forest - Lake Constance

Lindau, Lake Constance, Harbour. Copyright: GNTB/Marth, Gundhard - Black Forest Germany After breakfast, depart for the Black Forest, a region known for cuckoo clocks. See the town of Triberg and Lake Titisee.

Arrive at Lake Constance in the afternoon and enjoy walking through picturesque Konstanz. You may visit the famous flower island "Mainau".

Day 9: Lake Constance - Neuschwanstein Castle - Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Today, move into the Allgäu, viewing the fantastic Bavarian Alps. In Hohenschwangau, visit the fairy tale castle of King Ludwig II, Neuschwanstein.

Stop at another architectural treasure, the glorious Rococo church in Wies. In the late afternoon, arrive in the Olympic town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Day 10: Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Linderhof Castle - Oberammergau - Ettal - Munich

Linderhof CastleLess known but even more beautiful than Neuschwanstein is Linderhof Castle, which you may visit in the morning.
Continue to Oberammergau, home of the famous Passion Play which takes place every 10 years. The last event took place in the year 2000.
Stop at the Benedictine Monastery of Ettal, before arriving in Munich in the late afternoon.

Day 11: Munich

After breakfast, have an extensive private guided tour of the splendid Munich and the city's highlights. In the afternoon, time at leisure to explore the Hofbräuhaus beer hall, the Pinakothek art galleries, Olympic stadium, Nymphenburg castle - just to name a few .

Day 12: Munich - Nuremberg

Enjoy a private guided walking tour to see the most interesting sights.
Stop at the Reichsparteitagsgelände, courtroom 600 of the famous Nuremburg trials and also more joyous places like gingerbread bakeries and Bratwurst stands.

Day 13: Nuremberg - Castle Road - Rothenburg

After breakfast, drive along the Castle Road to the Romantic Road. Arrive in Rothenburg around noon. Walk through the charming town visit the Jakobskirche, a church with an altar by T. Riemenschneider.
You have enough time to explore the historic downtown and relax.

Day 14: Rothenburg - Wuerzburg

Wuerzburg In the morning, leave for the baroque city of Wuerzburg.
